Well Off the cuff I would say it is a iris, but the picture is a bit fuzzy and one can't see any leaves. Odd, no leaves.

I've been looking at blue flowers on the web, nothing else appears to match.

Here is a site with a blue iris http://www.debbykrimphotography.com/pages/126.Blue%20Iris.html

Note the bit of gold color? Similar to your picture.

I looked at 50 other pictures of blue flowers (google) and that iris one looks the most similar to what you have.

I could be wrong, in fact I'm doubting myself a lot here. I do know that irises come in a wide variety of shapes.

cheers

It almost looks like an orchid. I say this becuse of the tips of the pedals the way they curl up sort of, very beautiful colors!

Can you tell us a little more about it's size? How long is the stem? How long are the petals?

Looking at it, I'm thinking it's a tiny flower that is close to the ground. I have some little blue flowers that only come up about two inches from the ground with little spikey greens and a single stem with one tiny blue flower (from tip to tip of the petals is smaller than a quarter). If you can tell us more about the characteristics, perhaps we could help more.

I'm with DvdGStwrt on this one. It looks like an iris to me too.... although, it's odd that it's a singual flower. Is this growing in dirt or in a concrete crack? It's very difficult to tell by your photo. Do you have any more photos?

As Lydia says, more information would help us to help you. Let us know of the size too, as it's tough to tell from that picture.

Hi! Thank all of you for replying to this post. Smile However, I have found the answer.
This flower is a friend's flower, and she told
me that they found out it was a type of lily.
Thanks again! Smile

I'm glad you found that out, cause it's been driving me nuts trying to find anything similar. I thought it might be a type of lily by the shape of the petals, but couldn't find it anywhere.

I'm like that, too, Giz and Dvd. Sometimes someone will ask me something, or I'll see a post on Answerpool, and I'll just search and search until I find the answer. Smile
