This is the first time that I've seen a
green
cone on a tree that I have. Most of them are brown, or reddish that turn to brown. Anyone familiar with this type of cone?

I'm thinking bunya bunya or Monkey Puzzle.

No, David, it's neither.
I know that it's an ornamental pine... but was wondering about the significance of the "green" cone.

No? NO?! I can't possibly be wrong, that brings to question my whole life - I am never wrong!!!!!!
I know on the young cones on the bunya bunya they are green to start off with, turning brown the older they get. Maybe this is a young cone?

It may be a Monterey pine. Initially the female cones are small and green.

What idiot said anything about PINE? Oh I guess that was me! I'm getting everything wrong lately.
It's a type of weeping cedar! The solitary green cone is about 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide. Quite a large cone.
