I think it may be a succulent, but it was labled as a cactus at the store I bought it from. It didn't have a name or care instuctions. Any idea what this is and how I take care of it? It seems to be doing ok, NOW...but I want to make sure I over-winter it properly.

No, it's not hens and chicks....they don't look like that.
It's definately a succulent. There are sooooo many different varieties! I have one similar to the one you show and it has gorgeous coral coloured flowers. They all flower.
It's very important that you don't let the frost at it! Frost will kill it immediately! Put it somewhere where it will be protected during the winter.
