Technically, it's not a flowering plant, it is a medicinal herb. It's also known as "jimson weed" (but not a weed) or angels trumpets. The whitish/purple flower will open late in the afternoon and has a strong peppery scent. It's considered too to be in the MoonFlower family. All parts of it are poisonous so not recommended that you eat it. It will spread much like a zuccini or a pumpkin plant, but won't seed itself in other areas of your garden. In the fall, the spiney bulb piece will have seeds you can collect (once dried) and you can save these for planting again next year. It's a cool plant - enjoy!!!
