Roll EyesMy crepe myrtles died back to the ground over the winter. Will they come back again, and will this happen every winter? I've read that alot of people cut their plants back to the ground, because it only blooms on new wood. I hope someone who has crepe myrtles can help me. Roll Eyes THANKS

Perhaps the following sites will help. By what I've read only light pruning is needed to avoid crepe murder. Roll Eyes

I'm here in Louisiana so I don't know how much this will help you. We cut the tops off leaving a 5-7' tree. We have left one uncut for over 10 years. It is gigantic, about 30' tall. It's planted near a water well and seems to love it there. A whisteria has intertwined itself into it so when it blooms, it's a gorgous site. We do have mild winters here but the freezes we do have have never bothered them.
