Can you grow asparagus by sprouting the ends of spears bought in a grocery store? If so, How?

I just do not know.

perhaps you can try to root it by soaking it in water with vitamin B to promote rooting.

I do know asparagus seed is available (very cheap, less than a dollar) and it grows rather well.

The down side is you have to wait 3 years before you get a crop, letting it mature and grow.

Cheers

Thank you very much.

I think we will probably pass on the project and work with avocado or something that you can see the "fruits of your Labor" a little more quickly!

Thanks for your prompt response!

I've planted asparagus and it's
dandy! But like DvdGStwrt mentions
it does take time before you can
get a really good crop.... Just
plant them in an area where they
won't be disturbed.

I planted from seed.
