Is a gerbera daisy considered a perennial? I planted this is my garden in spring but I'm not sure if I'll have to dig it up and bring it in the house for winter. It's not listed in the perennial book I have. Thank You

Gerberas are grown for use outdoors as bedding plants or in containers. Native to South Africa, gerberas have very little cold-hardiness. They are actually perennial plants, but they will be perennial only in the warmest areas in this country, generally USDA zone 8 or warmer. However, they can certainly be grown as annual flowers in our climate. If you live in zone 7 or lower, dig them up before first frost if you want to keep them.
