I'am redoing my back yard and there is a very steep slope that goes down into a revine. I want to plant grass seed near it and after many failed atempts thanks to bad weather, the grass seed washes away right down the hill. Is there any way to keep the grass seed where I want it? Is there anything like grass nets or plugs. I've seen the grass that construction people use that looks like paint and turns into nice and full area of grass. Is that sold to the public? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yes, you can buy rolls of sod with grass growing already, rooted to hold back erosion. Check Turf or Sod or Landscape supplies in the yellow pages. Probably you should have the supplier lay the rolls of sod, because the surface underneath needs to be uniform so that the roots can grow into the substrate.
If sod is not likely to hold, you may want to plant ground cover. You insert small plants evenly spaced. The variety of plant depends upon conditions.
Final option is to terrace the slope using holland pavers or some such, and planting ground cover in the niche between paver and slope. Grass wouldn't work for terraced slopes because you can't cut it. Maintenance is a problem, the site would need hand weeding.
