I have one, er, two. One is doing rather well, the other continues to turn brown and "weep".

That one was a "foundling" found next to a swimming pool, in a pot, on its side, half alive, half dead.

I have been trying everything I know to bring it back.

It has one good stalk/branch. IF I should cut that off and put it in water will it root?

Also, how long does it take Dracaena Marginata to reach 1' high 2' high?

Thank

David

You can try to cut and root it, but it will likely not do well in the water. The Dracaena would be more apt to root by dipping the cut end in rooting hormone and then planting it in another pot with a mix of peat moss, vermiculite (sp?) and potting soil. When you cut this, be sure to cut above any brown on the branch.

As for how long it'll take to reach 1' to 2' in height...depends on how tall it is now...if it's just a small one, could take about 2 years to reach about 1 1/2' high.

Nope, that didn't work. It died.

Sad, we had burial services yesterday at the compost heap.

Oh man! Did you try only one? That's too bad. I've used that method and it's been successful many times.

Sorry to hear that David.
