I just bought some fresh sprigs of PussyWillows. How do I keep them? Will they continue to bloom? Can I plant them outdoors? Can they be dried??? Smile Thanks!

Kitty,
Well, I have one of those trees in the yard and have had a lot of success growing the cuttings.

All I did was cut them and put them in a vase of water in the house, and after a couple of weeks they began to put out roots in the vase.

Then you can plant them in the yard when it gets a bit warmer. Just keep the roots wet until you are ready to plant them.

I did this with about half a dozen cuttings about 5 years ago, and now have a 5' hedge of willow bushes separating this property and the one next door.

I don't know about drying the cuttings. I do know though they get a little bit messy where the buds are, and tend to drop a sort of pollen when they are kept indoors.

Good luck!
