I looked outside and my flowers are starting to come up! Red Face It's January 5th and the weather has been so warm. The temperature is 51º.

If they come up now, will them come up again in the spring? Is there anything I can do?

Some will take advantage of a double spring, some on the other hand (like bulbs) shoot their wad and that is that.

The real problem might be a sudden death with a wide variety of flowering plant if a hard freeze follows this warm period. Plants like bulbs (tulips, daffodils, blah) have a set cycle where the green to brown period of life after blooming stocks up the energy needed for the next year's bloom - if that is cut (like cutting back or frost killing the leaves) then the next year you get a lot of green and no blooms. Most bulbs also need a hiatus of about a year before they can bloom again.

Flowering in some plants is also indicative of budding - if tender buds are frozen it could be death or stunting of this years growth for that plant (depending on the plant).

If the problem was an early frost or a late spring frost I would have a suggestion or two to help keep the plants warm during that period. however this is out of my realm of experience.

Maybe you can soften the blow of the eventual freeze (if winter comes this year) by taking frost precautions like covering, ground mulching, putting plastic milk jugs full of water around the plants to absorb solar heat during the day and radiate it during the night to keep the local area warm.
