The Vatican has reiterated its stand on ordination of female priests by declaring the excomunication of any bishop doing so.

" Pope John Paul II declared in his 1994 apostolic letter Ordinatio Sacerdotalis that the Church "has no authority" to ordain women."

Yet, over the millenia, the Church has had the authority to declare such extra-Biblical doctrines as: the Trinity, the Immaculate Conception, Mary's perpetual virginity, Apostolic Succession, Purgatory, and a host of other inventions which have no other basis than the fiat of theologians.

That's because the Church never officially recognized the existence of Limbo.

and that was terrible, jr.

Someone should propose that each time a member makes a dreadful pun, they forfeit 100 posts from their total. But of course DG would never go for it, because he'd be down to being a bronze enthusiast within a month. I suspect Fred and you would be in the negative! Smile

Forget lances. They parade in "undress uniform" and have "tied accommodation" which might appeal. (Unless you are raven, of course)
