The Vatican has updated the list of seven deadly sins, and added seven mortal sins:
Environmental pollution Genetic manipulation Accumulating excessive wealth (how ironic!) Inflicting poverty Drug trafficking and consumption Morally debatable experiments Violation of fundamental rights of human nature
Also from the same article: Archbishop Girotti... brushed off cases of sexual violence against minors committed by priests as "exaggerations by the mass media aimed at discrediting the Church".
Yes, what does the Church say about wealth? Isn't it " Give it to us, for it is written that it is easier for a poor man to thread a needle than for a rich man to enter a camel" ?
I'm so glad I'm not a Catholic. Imagine having to confess to some priest that I'd used a plastic bag (no dg not that kind: that kind is up there with abortion ) with malice aforethought viz.taken a non-disposable one from the Religious Tract Society's shop when I took that booklet in Braille to read in the cinema
It's interesting that, on the one hand, the RC addresses what are, in the main, contemporary issues, while steadfastly holding on to such anachronistic ideas as an all male priesthood and priestly celebacy.

Sure. British men like us to think they are easily confused, the two being of a similar size.
I was speaking of those things which would be a convenience of the moment types of choices.
I could rob a bank which at the time may seem to get me great gain. But as I would sit in a cell lonely and blue I would soon realize that it was not in the best interest of my life for as long as I may live. Taking someone else's advice and having it fail can also be grouped in what is not in your own best interest for as long as you live.
Paul wrote: Have you suffered so many things in vain, if they yet be in vain. Some people never learn. Romans 14:22 KJV Wisdom makes the difference.
