I am not into Holy book versions of who or what God is, either by creation or by design, but it seems too me that most quote God from those passages in holy books... strange that this is the only reference that there is that there may be a God ... ermmm

But taking up the discussion from the holy book, I give you this

``I am the Alpha and the Omega'' [the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End], says the Lord God, ``Who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.'' — Revelation 1:8

Then again, you have to ask, who spoke these words, which lead to ask, who, was the scribe that wrote it.

Scriptures are wonderful, but do not IMO reveal if God is the living and dead creator, but in fact is only what humankind has created God to be.

History note:

Judaism traces its history back to the creation of mankind, but the explicitly Jewish historical origins begin with Abraham and the Hebrews. According to the Torah, Abraham's home was the northern Mesopotamian town of Harran.

Is it possible that good old Abraham stole the creation of man writings from the folks in Mesopotamia, putting those writings into his own revelation? (see also Enuma Elish the Epic of Creation)

http://www.sacred-texts.com/ane/enuma.htm

By design, God is life, God is the earth, wind, fire, water and mystery that goes with it ... simple really, and you can call God any name you want. God is only a name, a symbol of idolism.

God can be whatever you want God to be or not be. Even you living and breathing as you post on A.P can be God.

The God in you dies when you die, unless someone on here has solid proof (without quoting scripture) that the theologian God is the creator of all that is here.

By creation or by design ... believe what you will.

Our existance has no relevance, otherwise the truth would have been found long ago IMO

Truth way written long ago in such a way that only those who raised their minds to a higher level of thinking could understand it. But in between the time of the writing and now mankind's minds have been feed so many lies that they are hard to overcome. As Paul was told : It will be hard for thee to kick against the pricks

depends, and also depends on the interpretation, after all was it not mankind that created the God thing in the first place.

Its a real pity that there is no solid proof of how all of this God theory began in the first place or how mankind became as stupid as we are, believing almost anything that we tell each other by word of mouth or in the written word ... kicking harder

Is that ass/ass pun an example of this higher level of thinking? Come on, Tsaeb and Phil; how do you expect us to believe you have a handle on the Unmoved Mover And Eternal Creator Of The Universe, when you evidently have trouble getting to grips just with the idea that there are cultures, languages and religions outside the ones you happen to have been born into?

Maybe God isn't dead. Maybe he's curled up in embarrassment, hiding in a corner somewhere.

It's just part of the hidden manna. Sorry you don't understand the wording. There are deeper things also but those who are in need of milk are not ready for some meat which you just proved. It's a shame for a man with your spirit would be an ass et. Besides it was written that they shall speak in new tongues. Since you understood what I said I guess you got the message.

Mankind became stupid as you put it when he first thought he was naked, making his mind naked and what is written is meant to bring him back to a sense of reality. When one gets to the reality of the matter there are no longer foolish questions.

D'oh! I forgot to include that in the pencil-sharpener analogy on page one. Of course there would be talk of deeper knowledge for the chosen few, unavailable to the, as yet, unworthy.

You have to hint at more profound stuff - the lame banality of what those claiming to be divinely inspired have come up with so far on this thread suggests a divinity as dead as a doornail.

Jude 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

2 Peter 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

Maybe you, the man with such a gift of vocabulary may be in a more simple explanation such as: You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

Certainly not if there's no actual water there.

Are you going to share those 'deeper things' with us?

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Such as? The fact that God is your own life for the length of your days?

I will be away for a time. I have to go get some parts for my motor cycle. In the mean time mull what I said over in your mind.

then is it you or God that will fix the bike.

Please dont give me an answer like 'its the will of God' or 'God gave me the will to do it'

Next thing you will be saying is God pays you.

When you die, what do you think happens philalethist? its an open question

Revelations 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

When I die? Why should I worry about such, I'm to busy living. Besides the last thing to be overcome is death, but then it is written that the sting of death is sin. I like Romans 14:22.
Yup he pays well in the form of blessings. By the way I know how it is overcome anyway.

Actually you are jumping to conclusions: It's a 1982 Suzuki GS1100G and no side car for anybody. And the chariot of fire is a Red 1976 Ambulance in which is carried Telescopes with a Go-To feature. I call it the Ambulance from Hell. Want a ride girl?

Do all you Canadians jump to conclusions?

Pillion definition:1 a : a light saddle for women consisting chiefly of a cushion which goes behind a mans saddle.

If you knew anything about the Bible you wouldn't have to ask that question.
