One name of the tune is "Bodies" It was released by Drowning Pool January 2002. Eminem also sings the same song and calls it "Let the Bodies hit the Floor".
I can't help but think that that Eminem version isn't real. Not only can I not find anything about it except lyrics, but if this is true, it would be the first cover song I've ever heard by a rapper.
Yeah, Bodies by Drowning Pool should work well for you, Dan. Good aggression song. Good luck in your match. Is that like boxing or wrestling or what? I'm guessing wrestling since you're a big wrestling fan if I remember. And thanks, Clare.
Oh and, not to be picky, but, if I remember, Bodies came out in the summer of 2001.

Ah! Nice catch. Ah, and it was Walk This Way that they covered. I guess there is one though. And other rappers have covered it, too? But I don't think I've heard of another. I suppose my credibility in this topic just diminished quite a bit though...but I'm still just as sure this time...I think
A B-side? Usually B-sides aren't that hard to find. Does that mean you've heard the Eminem version, Times2?

Amazing how you've never heard one but knew I got the name of the song wrong
Anyway, I didn't say many rappers had covered that song. I said many rappers had covered songs. For example, MC Hammer's cover of Prince's "Soft and Wet". Vanilla Ice covered (aka, stole) the music to a Queen/Bowie song "Under Pressure" and called it "Ice Ice Baby". And there are countless more that I don't know off the top of my head because I hate rap. But I digress.
Actually, I don't like Eminem. But that song is listed in his discography in his authorized biography that my husband has. As a B-side. So I assume that a book written with his help about him, is probably right.

I think you're thinking of samples. MC Hammer only sampled the beat. That's all he recreated from the Prince song. Edit: I just realized that he might've kept the original chorus. That's possible, although not a cover either. Sample artists take parts of previously recorded songs and replay them to incorporate or manipulate them into something new. The art is now done in all kinds of different styles. For example, Wild Thing by Tone-Loc sampled a riff from a song called Jamie's Cryin' by Van Halen to make that looped that riff beat. Sing for the Moment by Eminem sampled Dream On by Aerosmith. If Vanilla Ice had actually asked for permission to use Under Pressure and Ice, Ice Baby has actually sampled the beat like it sounds, it'd be sampled. Like MC Hammer's She's Soft and Wet though, new lyrics, a new structure, and other new background sounds are added. Electronic artists do it a lot, too. Sampling is one of the unrecognized arts, but when you look at the wide musicial knowledge (or perhaps I should say sound knowledge sometimes) they have to have and the craftwork that goes into it, it's quite hard to not find a lot of respect for them. I've actually found that even Prince has sampled artists.
Ah! Well, that's very interesting.
