you guys hear what happened? I'm not sure of the whole story, but I heard something like 50 shot at The Game or something. They are both on the same label. All because The Game didn't want to do a song called piggy bank or something. you guys know anything about this. Cause I'm totally confused...

I heard just a bit about this a few days ago. Yeah, Piggy Bank is 50 Cent's big recent diss song. Basically The Game recently made some comments about not wanting to get "involved in the beefs 50 is stirring up with 'Piggy Bank'" (- from here) and also said he might collaborate with Nas who is apparently another enemy. 50 is obviously being really fiery about dealing with enemies. He seems to be taking it all really seriously. The Game seems he wanted to not get into such serious heat. "Two nights prior, Game had said on-air that he and 50 did not have to be friends as long as they worked toward that same common goal: making good music" (-also from the link above) but I guess The Game forgot about that after hearing 50 and just got mad. Doesn't look very good.

nope i haven't honilov. i'm sure it's very ridiculous though.
i don't care what they did, i think it's all to sell records. either way though, 50cent and The Game have gotta be the most ugly looking rappers on earth. Who's with me???

I'm with you, Ron. They are quite ugly. You don't think 50 Cent really has grudges though?
I've heard about Al Sharpton's teaming up with Hot 97 to help exterminate violence, Honi. SOHH That what you're talking about? And maybe I'm ignorant, but why's that silliness?

Jusork, perhaps I should have use the word 'meddling' instead of 'silliness'. Instead of Sharpton teaming up with Hot 97, it's more like Hot 97 teaming up with Sharpton. He's the one that proposed a ban that would deny artists any airplay on radio and television who are connected to any violent acts. That's not Sharpton's business and it's not fair to the millions of fans. So far as stopping violence, it ain't gonna happen and his meddling might make it worse. I understand him wanting violence to stop because I want it to stop too, but violence, and airplay time, are two different things. Let the police handle the violence.
I am not a hater of Sharpton but he need to keep his 2 cent out of the drama of 50 Cent.

Ah, yeah, that's a good point I didn't think about. Whether he's helping anything or not aside, what he seems to be doing is more like just banning rappers involved in violence, just trying to keep violence out of the popular artists themselves. Or are you thinking that doing this is actually him trying to actually do more than just working on a small part of violence?

I think he is doing this to bring awareness to violence, but using rappers as scapegoats. We all know that there are violence all the time on the streets, among gang-bangers, dope dealers, even in schools, in the malls, etc. which is a lot more frequent than rappers shooting each other. Rappers already come under scrutiny by most people without Sharpton making it seems like they are shooting and killing each other all the time. It happens, but it's rare, and I don't see the need for him to use airtime to gripe about something that he's not gonna stop anyway. If someone wants to shoot, they are gonna shoot anyway. There's a hell-of-a-lot more people shooting than rappers.
This is just how I see it but I'm sure the rapper-haterz will agree with Sharpton for ONCE.

You seem to be thinking that he's going after all rap in this? Isn't he just going after rappers who do real violent things?
I think I agree about him not really doing much in taking such action. Yeah, taking artists off radio isn't going to be that significant in decreasing violence. I can't say for certain, though, if it at least helps a little.

there will always be a level of violence in the rap industry. Everyone has to remember that these people did earn their experience that they are talking about from real criminal doings. So it will always be around. LIke the young people say there will always be haters. To me Al Sharpton is just another one of your local used car salesman. Willing to do what it take in order to prop his name up just a lil bit, to make some green..

I don't think he's taking a stand against people who are just talking about their real lives (at least he's not showing that, anyway) in doing this. He's only banning musicians who act violent.
