rap music is a lot like country music. Did you guys ever think about that? lol. country music tells a story about southern life. and rap tells a story about the ghetto life. there are just as many vulgar songs with country music as there are with rap music. So shut your stinkin faces, lol.

I used to be a really big fan of rap, escpecially Eminem. His music helped me get through alot of tough times, far more than any other artist, and I don't know what I would have done without listening to the Eminem Show every time I felt bad.
Very recently I've discopvered rock/alternative/punk/pop punk and now when I look back on the rap songs that I used to like (exclusing Eminem) I go, man Yelena, what the hell were you thinking? And when people used to say rap is crap, I used to get very mad, but now I can kind of see where they are coming from.
Even though I'm into a different type of music now, I can't forget that I usd to be a really big fan, and I can't forget what certain artits music has dome for me, so those artists will always have my love and support, even if I'm not really into thier stuff anymore.

there is a lot of rappers out now that almost make the game senseless. I can't stand 98% of the new rap thats came out lately. It's retarded. They are turning rap into a damn joke. They are turning what NWA, Tupac, Biggy, Run DMC and Eminem worked so damn hard to make into nothing more than a bigtime joke. I too have discovered country music recently. it's great!

I like the fun stuff but the violent/social stuff is usually too obnoxious for my tastes. Still, I've never had a problem with ANY music- only it's volume.

I think it completely lacks any artistic talent. It is very repetetive. Many of the lyrics are written for shock value and sell cool. I call it **** music. Not my taste at all. Keep in mind that I am a child of the 70's. Maybe I am just not too open minded on the subject.
Bad poetry and a beat - what artist could ask for more? But youth will always seek those things it can claim as an identity of independence (which, by nature, is denied when they accept it as their symbol.) Still, they obviously hear something that I cannot, so I place it with country western music - it's out there, occasionally I may like a song or two, but I would never tune my radio to a station devoted to the genre.
I'm 17, and i do enjoy some rap and hip hop music. However, i do find some of the lyrics disgusting, but if thats how the rappers want to protray and express themselves then that's their problem... although, i don't believe how some people say that it's a bad influence on children and that we'll pick up foul language from listening to it...
