Hi.I am new to this site, but Youthink members and jusork know me.

Anyway, this is in my opinion a wonderful hiphop group with what I heard a wonderful solo artist named Chuck D.They were a very controversial group at the time because of how they portrayed the media and hollywood(in what I think is in a accurate portrayl).I would highly reccommend the group.I have Fear of A Black Planet and I listen to it all the time.

What do you think of Public Enemy? What's your favorite CDs by them?Do you think they portray the media and hollywood acurately?

I don't have that much of an extensive knowledge about their songs or albums, but I do think Chuck D is definitely a good, intelligent rapper. Most of what I've heard as been about the same, but they're all definitely stand out songs. As for the way they portray the media, I guess it's somewhat true, if not a little one sided. Times have changed a lot in a decade plus. Propaganda is of course a big part of politics, but it's certainly more than just where Public Enemy shows where it is.

Oh, and I thought of another rapper you might like if you like Chuck D. Try some KRS-One or his work in Boogie Down Productions. Boogie Down Productions started as a hardcore violent album but by the second album, he changed. He is said to be a pioneer for conscious rap, rapping about issues, education, and a more positive future. He's another very political rapper and really exapands his message to a lot of different ideas compared to Public Enemy's basic focus.
