Street's Disciple. Anybody else heard anything on it? What I've heard so far in full has seemed rather typical, but I really like You Know My Style. Good classic Nas flow. He also does a track with his dad, jazz musician Olu Dara, which, from the clip I've heard, sounds very promising. It'll be the second single so we'll be able hear it soon. Maybe it won't be so typical after all.

Try some of the stuff on his website. What do you think of You Know My Style?

I like this one, Jusork. It is really cool. Smile

I don't know why I hadn't seen this thread before.

Heh, don't worry about it, Honi.

Oh, and Bridging the Gap, the song he does with his dad, has been released. The whole song's now available on the site there. I liked it although I think it's actually getting old for me now.

And more recently, I've found a really great unreleased track (released on Lost Tapes) called Doo Rags. Nas is continually solidifing his stance now as my favorite rapper most definitely.

Oh and off topic, but I bet you bought R. Kelly's new album. Yeah? What I've heard has actually been pretty impressive...even if he did probably do it to give himself a better image. Either way, it seemed like a really smart move.

jusork, it's pretty much his usual bring it style. Nas never seeses or ceeses to amaze me, however you spell that word.
He' still bringing it like only NAS can. I'm glad to hear something good and solid from someone. It seem like now **** who is it NAS, Eminem, thats pretty much it of the rappers that I still think cant bust something decent.
oops, The Roots also.
I been digging deeper into underground a lot these past few years man.
Daz Dillinger I grew up listening to, Living Legends, E-40, guys in the likes of that category.
A lot of the new rap sucks big time.

Hey, Ron. Where've you been?

That would be cease. Don't forget about the double click feature. You can check your spelling that way.

Hey, I didn't know you liked The Roots. I really like the new single. But god damn, Eminem's new single is horrible! Just like Without Me, if not worse. I can't wait to see how he redeems himself this time. I recently checked out Mosh and it does seem to go in that direction. I've heard a few songs from E-40. Yeah, he's interesting.

Yeah, there's a lot of ****, but it's a rather big generalization to say good is barely there. I mean, come on. You SURE about that? Did you forget about Outkast? Everybody has liked Outkast whether they first heard them on Southernplayalist... or the double album. And how about Kanye West? He brings some interesting stuff. Other stuff has been popping up in various places and lots of good rappers making names for themselves now. I predict that eventually, lame rappers will be washed out little by little. Even Jay-Z made a astounding step up with his more recent stuff. He really seemed to work right towards his potential for his leave.

But yeah, the underground and alternative world of rap is clearly the thriving center. You mostly like the more street side I guess. I think I tend to like the more oddball side although I've heard plenty of good street rap. Nas has worked with a lot of great street rappers. Have you heard of AZ? They're good friends. Nature and Cormega are two other rappers he's brought up and like Nas, they've got that same great creative side. I think you'd like most alternative rap though. My second rapper seems to be this guy named Aceyalone who has a great flow and creative mind. Definitely check him out. And of course he's just one of many I could mention. I could go on forever at all the excellent alternative rappers. I plan on providing some great rap artists in my new exploration thread. Check those out.

Eminem's first single was very annoying.
At first I didn't really enjoy Kanye West to much with his through the wire single, but lately he's starting to impress me.
I don't know man, but I've always loved the street rap. The stuff that talks about how they live and how the hood is.
I've always backed the Dogg Pound, well The Dogg Pound minus Kurupt now. I'm sure you heard about what happened there.

I liked that Lil' Scrappy single "No Problem" that was pretty hardcore. I'm still not too fond of the Eastside boyz too much it sounds like a bunch of yelling to me.

Too $hort is still great. Doomsday is really good. If you haven't heard them yet Jusork, a good song is called Playboy off their filthy album. Rakim. Cool G Rap. Thats old school man.
A lot of the Bay Area Players are just great.

Hmm, I can't remember what happened with Kurupt. How long ago was it?

I like a bit of old school stuff. I've got Know the Ledge saved in my player. Good Rakim and Eric B. song.

Right now I'm really into Nature.

I found a rap group called Doomsday Productions. That them? I saw an album called Filthy but no song called Playboy. I do see a song caleld Dip N' Slide which features someone called Playboy Seven. Could you have got the song name wrong? I tried a little bit and....it's definitely not the worst I've heard in the style, but I've definitely heard way better in the style.
