I posted an answer that this was Saturday Night by the Underdog Project

www.friends-tv.org/615end.mpg (video clip)
Yet they are telling me on the other forum that this is wrong
Come on AP do your thing, and tell them what the title of the music is and the Group
Put them out of their misery Wink
The official Friends web site is also of a "I Don't know??" on this
quote:
6.15 TOW It Might Have Been, part 1 - What music was used while fat Monica danced, during the end credits?
Some people may not recognize this scene, because it wasn't present when the episode first aired, nor is it on the DVDs. In the initial airing and on DVD, both parts of the 2-part episode were presented as one hour-long episode with credits only after part 2). In syndication (reruns), where they only do 1 30-minute episode at a time, there are credits at the end of part 1. That is where this scene appears. Unfortunately, I have not been able to identify that music.
If you want to take a look at the scene and see if you recognize the music, here it is. Let me know if you recognize it.

This scene was also shown during the Friend bloopers and outtakes special that aired in the US in February, 2001. But in that instance, a different song was used: Shake Your Groove Thing, by "Peaches and Herb."

Well it's definitely not Underdog Project.

I can make out the lines "oh baby" or "oh babe" and "and it's alright," but not the one that goes with the "and it's alright" repitition. Can anyone make out that other phrase?

Ah! Yeah, that sounds right, Clare.

But I'm still not finding anything. (I did find Bedstor's post and lots of other people asking the question on other forums though.)

Amazing ear Clare. I've been silently working on this song as well and all I got out of it was (besides all the "oh baby's") was "It's alright, do the...." But now that you say what you think it is I can so hear it now!

So Bedstor, you and Clare get a gold star on this one Big Grin

Woah now, Bedstor. Slow down a little. According to the clip, the song says "do the saturday night, and it's alright, do the saturday night.." etc. (Do we agree that it says "and it's alright?") You've got Saturday Night in single quotes which means that it's the song title and then you have words in double qutation makrs which means that those are lyrics within the parentheses. It says the lyrics go "It's alright, it's alright, it's alright, Saturday night!" This isn't the way the words go as far as we know. Plus, there's no indication that this rock 'n' roll band did a dance club song. I can't find any lyrics to this song by The Stalkers, but I have a feeling it's not the song.

Perhaps it would be good idea to look at non-American sites though. I don't think this is an American singer, much less a song found in American clubs. I tried a little in google.de and Amazon.de, and google.dk, but didn't get very far. He doesn't sound French to me. It could be from any place across Europe (although if Germany doesn't know a dance songs, then it sure most be something pretty local to some country Razz).

Well actually the name of the song by The Stalkers is "It's Alright" and is on the Live @ Ragin' Cajun album. However, I have just listened to samples of their songs off the Little Monster album and I don't hear any similarities. I might have to take back one of those gold stars Wink

I don't think that's the same Stalkers, Georgia.

This is the same band from Bedstor's link.
And here's Stringbean and the Stalkers.
The bands are made up of different members.

Your links are working fine, Bedstor. The direct link doesn't work because the site doesn't have access anymore. The cached version didn't work on webuser because you just didn't put the link in right.

Either way, neither Stalker is what we're looking or.

Sorry to say, PB. I still can't find anything. I've looked everywhere I can think of. I definitely hear 'night' and not 'light' though. I think I know what you mean about what comes after 'Saturday night,' but it doesn't sound like much. I think it's the word 'and.'

Between this query and Clarebears Movie question when she first joined our group they are the longest 2 unresolved general Knowledge questions on this site
Should ask Admin to showcase them , stick them under the AP banner as a scrolling sub banner saying These questions will be answered eventually no matter how long it takes! Razz

Sorry to Disappoint you. We all know the Funky Town (Lipps inc ) tune even on this side of the Pond
The Tune Played in the Clip which now has been removed off that site.
May be archived on YouTube (or similar?) now because that sort of site was not running when this query was Posted Smile
