Hi,
Does anyone know if there is such thing of a machine that records your voice(while singing) and then you can add digital effects such as taking away crackles, making yur voice sound louder or softer and just making it sound 'perfect' like all those pop stars out there that have the computer edit there voice. Does anyone know of anything that you can buy that can do this to your voice while singing a-long to a song? Confused I would GREATLY appreciate your help, I have been trying to find something like this for a long time now.
Thanks! Smile
Ca33

Yeah, there's lots of software which normal people can use on their own computer. Here's one.

I found this too. Looks like a bunch of helpful information on what you're trying to do. I think that should help you out, but if there's anything else, let us know. Enjoy.

There are karaoke machines that will do what you are requesting. But they are rather expensive. ECHO-pro Total Entertainment System has features that let you "sweeten your voice" or adjust they key of a prerecorded track. It sales for $499.00

I'm always purchasing karaoke supplies and highly recommend the below sites. They should have something that will help you:
ProSing
Priddis

Now there also is a new product, On-Key KaraokeTM Player, that is the first consumer system that can alter your voice to match the key of the music, giving you perfect pitch. The system consists of a microphone with a computer chip that is pre-loaded with 50 songs. It plugs into your TV or stereo (if you plug it into your stereo then you can record to a cassette). It also comes with a CD-ROM disc that allows you to download new songs into the microphone through it's USB port.

Features include:
Patented On-Key function can make any singer sing on key. The player adjusts the pitch of the singer's voice to match the original recording. This is a major breakthrough in Karaoke!

Add vocal harmony to your voice, so you can be a duet in perfect harmony

Change the gender of your singing voice or transform your voice to sound like an alien or techno-voice.

Digital key control adjusts the key of the song to fit your vocal range (in case you want sing for real).

Adjust the tempo of songs without altering the key of the music.

Digital effects level control allows you to control the amount of echo or other digital spatial effects (like singing in the shower, stage or stadium) and control the volume of your harmonies.

Real-time scoring to help you improve your singing or have contests at home with an impartial judge.

CD-ROM included with PC/Mac Karaoke Manager program so you can create specific play lists and transfer to the player the songs you want to sing at that time.

You can purchase it at amazon.com for $149.99....and after reading all the "magic" it does....I might just have to buy one for myself!

So is what I suggested not exactly what she's looking for, or are you just giving an alternative?

Justin, your links seemed geared toward computer applications. Since she mentioned looking for something that could change a voice as she sang along to music (and since this was not posted in the computer forums) I was thinking she was looking more toward karaoke type equipment so I guess you could say I was offering alternatives Smile

I am soooo into Karaoke, Ca33. I categorized my songs the other day by artist, song, and CD+G distributor and found I have over 400 songs in my repertoire! 3 of which I can sing half-way decent Roll Eyes

"You might be a bad singer if... the neighbor's dog howls when you sing"....and boy does she Razz

If you get the mic tell us how you like it. It does sound great and it's affordable. I contemplated getting one myself. But after my small investment into those discs I certainly don't want to have to start all over by downloading more songs into the mic.

P.S. Justin, you rule in the lyrics and music department-what would I do without you?
