Tonight I met a friend who asked me if I knew the tune played on the harmonica a few times during the movie "the Getaway" with Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw. I never saw the movie. Would anyone know the name of it?

I don't know the tune, but once I saw that Quincy Jones did the original music, I thought Toots Thielemans would be involved. I was right. He did the harmonica solo. I'll try to remember to check his web site tomorrow and see if I can find anything further.

I found this here which suggest "Texas trash heap" could be the tune, but I am far from sure .

The film's original score was composed by frequent Peckinpah collaborator Jerry Fielding, but was replaced, at Steve McQueen's insistence, with the lighter, jazzier film score by Quincy Jones, shortly before the film's release. - Internet Movie Database
