The scene is in front of the school, the blond lady goes out for a smoke, and black birds (crows/ravens?) start landing on the play set.

During this the children are singing a repetitious song. However no matter how loud I turn the volume up I can not make out what they are singing.

What is that song and are there lyrics to it?

"Risseldy, Rosseldy"
("I married my wife in the month of June")
Derived from the traditional Scottish folk song "The Wee Cooper o'Fife"
Sung by the schoolchildren

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056869/soundtrack

I married my wife
In the month of June,
Risseldy, rosseldy,
Mow, mow, mow,
I carried her off
In a silver spoon,
Risseldy, Rosseldy,
Hey bambassity,
Nickety, nackety,
Retrical quality,
Willowby, wallowby,
Mow, mow, mow.

She combed her hair
But once a year,
Risseldy, rosseldy,
Mow, mow, mow,
With every rake
She shed a tear,
Risseldy, Rosseldy,
Hey bambassity,
Nickety, nackety,
Retrical quality,
Willowby, wallowby,
Mow, mow, mow.

She swept the floor
But once a year,
Risseldy, rosseldy,
Mow, mow, mow,
She swore her broom
Was much to dear,
Risseldy, Rosseldy,
Hey bambassity,
Nickety, nackety,
Retrical quality,
Willowby, wallowby,
Mow, mow, mow.

She churned her butter
In Dad's old boot,
Risseldy, rosseldy,
Mow, mow, mow,
And for a dasher
Used her foot,
Risseldy, Rosseldy,
Hey bambassity,
Nickety, nackety,
Retrical quality,
Willowby, wallowby,
Mow, mow, mow.

The butter came out
A grizzly gray,
Risseldy, rosseldy,
Mow, mow, mow,
The cheese took legs
And ran away,
Risseldy, Rosseldy,
Hey bambassity,
Nickety, nackety,
Retrical quality,
Willowby, wallowby,
Mow, mow, mow.

The Pit

Scroll down for music and lyrics to "Risselty Rosselty," sometimes known as "Nickety nockety now now now!"...the song is actually known by various titles.

Thanks, hopefully now that I have words I can kill the tune that has been going through my head over and over day after day after watching The Birds a few weeks ago.

Perhaps you could replace it with Kylie. If only it were that simple, eh?

Top Ten Earworms:

1. Kylie Minogue, Can't Get You Out of My Head

2. James Blunt, You're Beautiful

3. Baha Men, Who Let the Dogs Out

4. Mission Impossible theme

5. Village People, YMCA

6. Happy Days theme

7. Corinne Bailey Rae, Put Your Records On

8. Suzanne Vega, Tom's Diner

9. Tight Fit, The Lion Sleeps Tonight

10. Tiffany, I Think We're Alone Now
