In which station was the opening sequence of the Beatles' film "A Hard Day's Night" shot? I was always told it was Liverpool Street and blindly believed it at the time. Then other sources told me it was Paddington Station, and now I read it's Marylebone. Can anyone tell me for sure (there are conflicting versions on the Internet)?

Definitely not Liverpool Street (not mentioned in the imdbpro location list) Imdbpro has it as Marylebone, I deduce. That's because the list has only Paddington and Marylebone but it has Marylebone as a location as follows:"Marylebone Station [ gives address] (train journey to Paddington Station)" which suggests there is a shot of the Beatles starting out at Marylebone with a later shot of them arriving [impossibly and illogically, but this is film ] at Paddington. Paddington Station itself only gets a location listing as "train journey".
Other stations are listed but those are in the West Country.
Does that make sense in relation to the film and the action? If not, I'll have another look.
I'm very familiar with Marylebone, and all the opening shots look like Marylebone to me. That narrow street they are chased down before they go into the station is Boston Place. I had to look the name up, but I think it runs down one side of the station and onto the Marylebone Rd. Then, when they leave the train and drive away from the station by taxi, I'm pretty sure that's Marylebone yet again.
From Bill Harry's "The Ultimate Beatles Encyclopedia" (Page 287) : The Beatles are shown at Marylebone Station at the beginning of the film when they are pursued by hordes of fans.
Moving on a Bit. Does anyone remember the Lead Turkey Movie that MaCartney made, also in London and also involved a Railway station. It was that bad I think it was shown once on TV (at a time when nobody was watching) Ps The Album linked to it also sunk fast

Dg is right, definitely Marylebone. Interesting that your familiar with the area dg. My parents ran a pub in Marylebone during the 1960's (in fact Wilfred Bramble, who plays Paul's grandad in the film, drank in there ) and I lived and went to school there. Used to pass the Beatles short-lived 'Apple Boutique' on my way to school.
Hi Viv, You always have an interesting little story to tell us. I'd say I'm more familiar with the station than the area. Marylebone is the London station we'd arrive at from Aylesbury which is near to where my mum and dad live.
