I caught the end of a movie a while ago, but didn't get its title. It's about a Black guy who is executed in the electric chair for, I think, rape, and a prison guard and his mouse who live a long, long time. Sorry, that's all I saw. TIA, jr +++++++++++ 10-27-06, 08:05 AM VelvetVoice That is The Green Mile, with Tom Hanks. It is a movie based on Stephen King's book, which is several volumes. BTW, Stephen King has a new book out, a romance! I usually don't like regular horror books, but I love his character development skills, so this book is going to the top of my reading list.
10-27-06, 08:58 AM Sherasi I enjoyed that movie (The Green Mile) very much. There were solid performances by all of the actors cast in that film.
One thing that really hit home for me, as a nurse, is how much we in modern society have come to take for granted Antibiotics and how easily (for the most part) we can treat and cure illness.
VV, I also heard about that new book he just released. Let me know how you like it .. perhaps you can post an opinion about it. I am still undecided about whether to attempt to read it in my limited schecule. Smile
10-27-06, 09:38 AM VelvetVoice Sherasi: aren't you going to take any down time for yourself when you have the baby? You really glow in your picture on DP.
10-27-06, 01:16 PM Sherasi VV: I will take time off if I can, however it depends when I "go". Since I am High Risk, we are monitoring my physical status and blood pressure. I will need a C-section regardless, but we are trying to get me past 32 weeks of pregnancy. I've never gone longer than that before. Smile (I am 26 weeks plus a couple days now)
As for taking time, well, if Jaden is born too early, she will be in the NICU and time for myself will be at a minimum with work and the hospital.
It is all up to God and the Obstetrician now. LOL
BTW, thanks for the lovely compliment! {blush}
10-27-06, 02:46 PM juanruiz Hope all goes well with the pregnancy, Twin. Back to the film: could someone tell me what was the cause of the guard's and mouse's long life?
11-04-06, 08:57 PM dogspit J.R., I would advise reading the Stephen King book to find out... but it has to do with being touched by the one prisoner, who had some extraordinary powers of healing.
