It is the true story of an event from 1970...and the rebuilding of a University Football team. You definitely DON'T need to be a football fan to appreciate this movie.
Oh...and I should mention that I don't remember ever tearing up as often as I did with this movie. OMG, I was practically crying for two hours straight! However! This is NOT a chick flick! Great for the whole family! And I got to see alot of the styles I used to wear!
Wonderful movie, great acting....a fabulous feel good true story!
I was just sorry that I didn't recall the event itself...but I was 13 at the time, so probably didn't keep up on the news. Shame on me for not caring about the rest of the world at that age...

I don't think I've seen a football movie marketed to just females. This IS a family flick though. But what I really imagine is if it's any different than any other wholesome, overly-sentimental sports movie. There's been so many ushered in since Remember the Titans (Radio, Gridiron Gang, Invincible; that's three in 2006. Wow.)
