I saw this move a long tome ago but i can't think of its name. I'm not sure when it was made, I beleive it was made in the 50's, It's about young man from the wrong side of the track who comes back home a doctor and a young rich woman who lst her hearing and she wants his help to help her hear.
Does anyone know the name of this movie?

The only film I can think of from that period about a deaf woman is Johnny Belinda but it doesn't quite seem to fit the bill.
Is they more info you can think of ?
Was it in Black and White ?
Any actors you can remember ?
Any small details that might help ?

I remember a movie very similar to this, but can't remember enough of it. At first I thought the doctor was Kirk Douglas, but a check of his filmography didn't show any titles that seemed promising. I'll keep looking.

Could it possibly be And Now Tomorrow (1944) ? Loretta Young plays the role of Emily Blair who is rich and deaf. Alan Ladd is the doctor who grew up poor in Blairtown and is now working on a serum to cure deafness.

A serum to cure deafness? Wow! Georgia, don't scare me like that! But that wouldn't help her to hear!

I think Dorian's Kirk Douglas as a poor Doctor might have been "Not as a Stranger" where Olivia de Havilland was a Swedish nurse; but I don't remember any cures for deafness, just selfish genius taking advantage of unselfish woman's generosity.

You may be right, Frank. It must have been the Swedish nurse part that caused me to remember the film. (Roll Eyes)

I saw Not As A Stranger recently on PBS. I didn't see Robert Mitchum as selfish. He was the smartest one of his classmates, and someone I'd trust. He married the Swedish nurse out of desperation, and she knew the reason why he married her too. She was getting a doctor husband along with prestige, no one else had to know the circumstances. I don't think it was such a bad bargain for her, considering the status of women in those days. I didn't make it to the end of the movie though, I fell asleep on parts of it, but she does try to make him love her at the end.

VV says, "He married the Swedish nurse out of desperation, and she knew the reason why he married her too."
I read the book years ago, never saw the movie. In the book he does not come out very well. Personally I see nothing wrong with mutual exploitation so long as it is frankly expressed and understood from the outset. But implicit in any heterosexual marriage is the notion that it is for keeps, and there will be children and a home and so forth. To diverge from this implicit understanding without making the terms explicit is deceitful and exploitative.

I think Georgia got it, don't you?
