It doesn't specify which scenes were filmed where though.
But Wikipedia states that "Much of the winter portion of the film was shot on location at the Stowehof Inn in Stowe, Vermont. The moose head used for several interior shots is still on display at the inn."

Does that sound like the lake cabin you were referring to? Like it may have been the Stowehof Inn in Vermont...? I would venture a guess that the girls were in school at Agnes Scott College in Georgia.
