This is an exceedingly childish, simple problem, but: Somehow I hit a button wrong and now my taskbar appears vertically on the righthand side of the screen. I don't want it there! I want it horizontally across the bottom of the screen. How do I get it where I want it?

Easy to fix..(When you know the secret) Wink
Jelp ? What type of Windows are you running XP or Windows 98?

Easier one to move is XP left click on the Bar and Drag it across There is a "Lock the Task bar" menu setting(Above Properties) Cannot move the bar if that is ticked OK Windows 98 Does not have that luxury Red Face

I run XP. I undid the lock the task bar. I left-clicked the bar and it now takes up half the screen. It's still vertical. And don't like it that way!!

Make sure its unticked then just position your mouse pointer in the blue area close to the clock /icon area hold down the Left button on the mouse and with a small move to the left the Bar will return to the bottom of the screen
and the "Bloated" bar is Nothing to worry about Windows Has to acommodate the same number of visible icons and it finds this the Best way
If you can now pull the taskbar around easy Take it to the top of the screen(and you'll see what I mean) Smile
When you have finished Make sure the "Lock the Taskbar " item is ticked
FYI there is a way of making the Task bar thick But it needs a bit of delicate Mouse work or B) a visit into the page settings
The Default setting in my opinion is perfect Smile
