I just noticed that all of the test, well most of it, that I see on my computer is in italics now. Such as most text on websites, and everything that I see on MSN messenger for example.

Is this some system config that I somehow tweaked accidentally, or what?

Regards,

Stephen

In MSN Messenger you can select fonts. Perhaps you have set "Italic" as your preference? Open Messenger, Open Tools, Open Options and click "Messages" Click the "Change Font" button to change your preference.

I don't know if that will affect your Web page font or not. Please let us know if changing the MSN Messenger has any affect.

I hope this helps!

The other thing you can try is open Internet Explorer Properties(Internet Options)
and on the first screen click the "Fonts..."
button (at foot of the window)
Now in the 3 menu boxes set them as follows...
Language script: "Latin Based"
Web page font : "Times New Roman"
Plain text font: " Courier New "
then press the OK button to set
Can see some really weird looking pages if this area is out of order Eek (and there is no reset to default button Red Face)
All Italic text? Thats mild compared to some screens I've had to readjust Smile
IE6's Font controls are less accessible than IE5.5 but can still puzzle the Inexperienced Confused
The settings I gave you are as near default as you can get, but note the script underneath the menu clicking on the different names changes it.
Tip Stay within the range in the menu windows for fine tuning. Going outside of it is not advisible and you'll still be seeing unreadable pages Frown

IE's fonts are configured correct - that's the first thing I checked. However, it's not just for internet explorer, but on all of my messengers, also.

I do not have italics set on any of them.

If thats the case I think you have had your browser HiJacked Mad Run a spyware scan ASAP
also update the same first Wink
Then you'll need to download HijackThis follow the instructions and submit the log file to a specialist Forum for appraisal Try the HijackThis Forum at www.webuser.co.uk , and put some info in the header (this helps locate the culprit) you'll have to register if you are refused (age wise) can always lie? I have another forum you can post to Wink

Can you tell what font(s) are always italicized and what is diplayed normally? This sounds like a wierd problem. If a spyware scan doesn't help, you might try a re-install of Messenger and Explorer.
