I think its an incorrectly set up drive space allocation (too small?)that is showing this and they are seeing each other Hence Windows calls this Message up
You can use up to 10% of the Hard drive space
But your SR is set like mine to 6 weeks so I'll have to calculate Your Hard drive size and give you a Percentage number to set the slidebar to (On Mine it's 3% (3800mbs) on a 160GB drive)
Job 2 Run CCleaner to Clear the cache
There is a Tick box to switch this feature off But I would not advise it unless...
Only used for completely emptying the SR
Use CCleaner then Defrag then Return to the setting bar, to untick the Tick box and reset the SR Long winded, But its worth it for peace of mind

The Setting Bar is Located by Right Clicking on "My Computer" select "Properties" then select the "System Restore" Tab on the Next Page

The Apple Home Page is Not a Threat
But I Need you to do a quick check for us
In the Internet Options Home Page Box(First thing you'll see)
Before you do anything here Have the Page which was supposed to be your Homepage Showing on your Browser OK?
Next delete everthing in the box (Even if it Has your Homepage name OK?)
Next Step, click the Apply and then the Close Close button at the foot of this Window
This window will Close
Next step reopen Internet Options
Quick check to see if the Home Page section window Has nothing in it
There are 3 buttons underneath the
Locate the Use Currentbutton Click it and the Name of the Page in the Background will
be chosen amd displayed as your Home Page
Next Step, click the Apply and then the Close Close button at the foot of this Window

Next, try closing and opening the browser a Few Times ...Is the Home Page appearing Now? Smile

Little Warning. If you Click the "Use default" button, you will be taken to this Page www.msn.com/?st=1
But there is a Better (and related site) without the Newsy bits @ www.bing.com
this site. Has Bing Search running in the Background...Different front ends

Try the "Use current" Button approach then Click the Apply/OK buttons
If No Joy then Type or copy the Address into the Box then click on it to Highlight the addrss than click the Apply/OK Button in that order
The Old address can be removed later

Have you SpywareBlaster installed? It can be set up to stop this Behaviour and Set your Choice of homepage in Place Barring a deliberate
alteration by a Hacker
Works with your Browser so the 2 programs Must say the same thing If IE is altered SWB Will return it to the Original setting if the call from IE is Made
PS Has also a tick box for disabling the IE Setting all together and the setting on SWB Has Priority
My Personal settings are all to Google for Admin (Online settings) and to MSN for Local Machine (Global) ...For back up. Many Permutations Possible with Different search engines/Portals

I don't do this often, Publishing the Info on the download Link in public
But as you are "In the wars" opening links/email
It is the Only workaround that is open and
Shout out if it works or not. Thanks

How Can I Fix System Restore?

NEW: Monday 19 October 2009

"This is a very common question believe it or not!"
System Restore is usually caused when your computers registry system contains errors or when certain system files are missing or broken; System Restore is a sign of a very unhealthy computer registry... Most errors are caused by poor maintenance of your PC. But no-fear, repairing your System Restore can be just as simple as following these 4 easy steps below:
1. Download the System Restore Repair Tool
2. Click "Save File" and follow the simple installation instructions.
3. Scan your computer with the RegCure application.
4. Click the "Fix Errors" button to repair System Restore.

Bedstor - this RegCure app that you link to in the above post, my a-squared anti-malware blocked the page. Foolishly I allowed access, downloaded and ran the application - after "finding" 400-something registry errors, it would only fix five of them without me paying for the app. So not much help there! It's just the trial version of yet another Registry Cleaner - calling it a "System Restore Repair Tool" is kind of stretching it. Actually it's a lie, it's just one of hundreds of registry cleaners out there.

Thanks Gar G
I Half suspected that, the poster is Between a Rock and a Hard place on this and without No email I cannot think of an Interim solution for him
Only other Way is a HJT Log and that is a lot of work for the poster if they are not Good with the machine as we are going to Give out several instructions and the Poster has to find them on the HJT "Shopping List" (Pics in link below) or/and alter a setting?
And of course they may have to submit 2 or 3 of these Logs for our inspection (And we have no regular "reader/s")
Download and Details Here
Some Timely advice:
quote:
If persistent spyware is bogging down your computer, you might need HijackThis. The tiny program examines vulnerable or suspect parts of your system, such as browser helper objects and certain types of Registry keys. Pressing the Scan button generates a log of dozens of items, most of which are just customizations. Don't check off an item and hit the Fix Checked button unless you're sure it's malware. Clicking Info on Selected Item tells you why the entry was flagged as suspicious, but not whether it's actually malware. To find that out, search the Web for that item's name or go straight to a forum, such as SpywareInfo or Computer Cops. Saving the log creates a text document you can post to these forums....
HijackThis is a serious tool for any user who needs to root out a serious infestation, but wield it with caution.

Is a Tiny download But it has been a life saver countless times
Here is what it produces (Screenshots) as you can see it looks hard (is too!) but follow the advice of the reader
Tick the Boxes indicated and You will get control back
That Apple "Home" page issue can be resolved at least Smile
