Lora, does this happen all the time or only when you are using that feature in a large file?

Only when I am using the feature in a large file.

Then that is probably your problem. Notepad is a simple text editor program and when it tries to load a large file whose size is close to the amount of available RAM, then the program will stop responding. Try your WordPad application and see if that one will work.

I alredy did that. WordPad did a good job on it, even though it seemed to freez for a while.

If your WordPad is handing up on you as well then you need more memory added to your hard-drive.

How can this be? I have .99 GB of RAM.

I only posted what I had been told to do at work when I had the same problem. I don't really know about the different types of memory on a computer. But Notepad can only open files that are smaller than 64 KB.

I concur with Georgia
Notepad is limited to so big a file ,Word pad has a bigger capacity but is still limited

There is a 3rd way you can make a file and save it and that is to make a Custom folder in your email box Make your note and copy them to an email and address it to yourself send it off then save it to your "new" folder when it arrives less than a second later Wink

Does not put any load on your computer and your notes are saved elsewhere intact (and safe from crashed computers) Smile
Some of these accounts are 2 or nearly 3 GB in size (in the case of Gmail)
This is not open to everyone yet but... click on my (Picture) and my email address is on this list and email us and I'll send you an Invite to the Program (and it is easy to set up and run)
