Because the computers that you're now using are used by a many people, you may not be able to change the "default" programs for things like email. If you can change the default, the page linked by
JWooden271 above will show you how;
See this picture You will be adding the Yahoo Mail option to this list.
But if you can not change the default mail to Yahoo (due to administrator limitations), then you may find this tip useful:
When you see the mailto: hyperlink you can right-click on it and choose properties from the right-click menu.
This will often give you the email address which you can copy/paste into the compose mail page on
http://mail.yahoo.com You can try this out on my page at:
http://www.dwightblackburn.com/ Right click on the email text link, and copy the email address. On mine, you will see some extra text that you will want to remove; for instance the
mailto:dwight@email_address.com?subject=I would like more information about
Remove these two portions: mailto:
and ?subject=I would like more information about
That leaves just the actual email address which according to site rules I can't post here, but in the example address it would be: dwight@email_address.com
If you don't see the address, but rather the address of an image file, you can just click it and let the Outlook or Outlook Express program open, then copy the mail address from the "To:" line into your
http://mail.yahoo.com compose page. Again on my page you can see an example of this by right-clicking on the email animated .gif image. You will just see the address of the image. But you can click the image and allow Outlook or Outlook Express (which ever is the default mail) to open and then copy/paste the address from there.
If you have any questions about using copy/paste,
