I am trying to build a website on a host that requires the pop-up blocker be disabled. I have gone to Internet Options in the control panel and entered the website's url into the "safe" list. But the application won't load, and there's a pop-up that says "9 blocked."
What else can I do?

What is the site you are looking at and perhaps somebody else can visit the Page and see if this "9" pops up again(see that it says) Why allow pop-ups I'd love to know why? It's ActiveX content that is being blocked on the last major update produce blank windowa or No-show sites...And some pop-ups are being allowed again in moderation...gets confusing even for me If all it is, is a system pointer message to somewhere that's fine, anything else treat with suspicion OK?

I replied to this post before, but apparently it didn't take. The site is gate.com, bedstor. The have an awesome site-building program but it uses something that conflicts with pop-ups, so I must disable them when I want to work on my site. So far, I've only had two pop-ups. Thanks for replying, bedstor dear.

Catty, you must have a pop-up blocker on one of your toolbars. Do you have google, yahoo, aol, anything like that as a toolbar in your browser window? Usually each of them come with their own pop-up blocker. You need to disable it for some websites in order to download material or setup a site. Sometimes you can work around a pop-up blocker by holding down the control key when you click in a link. But I think for your purpose you need to find where your pop-up blocker application is and totally disable it. Let me know what toolbars you have and I'll show you how to disable it.

In addition to the Add on Toolbars that block popups as mentioned above, often your AntiVirus or Internet Security utility will include popup blockers. This would include Norton Internet Security and McAfee Security Suite.
You could probably expedite this by contacting Gate.com technical support. They know their products and their requirements best: Support contacts
