Typical Questions we often ask of many people in this section is " What Operating system are you running ?" or "How Much RAM?" or even "What version of software is that program running?" Without this information We are running around almost blindly Most of the Information is found in the System Information section in Windows but for beginners It's a twisty route in and several screens of information which is hard to interpret
But I have found a tiny freeware program called Belarc Advisor which is about 590K which displays on a web page all the above info and much more including those missing CD keynumbers for your Windows disk and much, much more including Hotfix download numbers! off Microsoft So next time,if you are asked the question:What version of Internet Explorer have you? You run the program (copy and paste the answer into the reply box ) You reply thus: Internet Explorer Version 6.00.2800.1106 (and revision numbers as well ) Only thing I don't want people to do, is post the entire page because it shows some sensitive information which can get a hacker into your computer If that happens I shall inform the Moderator to edit the page and I trust the other answerers will do the same? Otherwise, I really couldn't care less, just as long as it works. I treat my computer about like my car. I change the oil, I update my virus software, and all those things to keep them healthy. With initial purchase, I'm picky and price shop. After I own it, I just try to take good care of it.

Does what it says, And then Some.. Lots of Facts displayed...and they are all copyable So If you are asked about Versions Open the Program line right click on it and the copy command is there Cool Definitely a 5 star program Cool

Nothing is 'free', especially on the net. I am downloading nothing or get spyware or a virus. No one pays up for net space with good intent.
Members here have helped me with my computer problems and I greatly appreciate this. However, I don't suggest anyone use these 'free' net sites.
The things you've written in this thread are all responses you've made in response to this question in the past. Dorian has consolidated them all on the same post to save space.
And there certainly are helpful sites out there with free stuff. Your response is a major over-exaggeration. Just look on download.com. If there's any place to go to find free stuff, it especially IS the internet. Just look at all the places you can listen to music for free. The old idea that nothing is free in the world is just not true.

And, they are looking for new sites for this directory. Note AP doesn't qualify unless there is a free answerboard or forum section created. You can submit a site name they will check it out and only display it if poses no risk to vistors or users. and Finally it must be totally freeware
