How do I get rid of the "shopping","traveling" and "gambling" etc folders in my favourites that I didn't put there.

When I go to organize my faves, only the ones that I actually added show up, and the rest don't.

My faves also seem to duplicate! It's weird. Just started to do that a few days ago. I close my browser and re-open it, an my faves are back to normal - for awhile. WTH????

Try manually removing them from your C drive instead of from the browser window option.

Depending on your system will depend on where the favorites are stored. Mine are in Documents & Settings>User (my name)...
You can also do a search for "Favorites" to see where yours are located. Once you find them, just delete from there. You can also easily organize from there as opposed to via the options in a browser window. Plus you don't need to be online to do that.

Georgia, thank you again for your always prompt and helpful response. I tried it your way and removed many faves that I don't need anymore. It's cleaner now! Smile

The problem still remains that I can't get rid of the "default" or folders that I didn't add. How can I get rid of them?

Can you do a search for something called "Orbit" to see if it exists in your computer? There was a Adware program that installed similar items to your "Favorites" folder. If so, look up this page...

Hi Tree... AdAware and Spybot used in conjunction with SpywareBlaster should locate and remove the file. You could also look in your "Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs" and check out to see what's there.

cswchan - I used AdAware tonite and it detected a bit of spyware, so I zapped them.

I just looked at my faves and that grrrrrr expanding list is still there. WTH???

I will now go and close my IE browser, and things will be fine for a BIT. I have no idea why it's doing this. Mad

I'm sorry Tree - I have nothing more to offer. I thought maybe there was some sort of automatic bookmarking in affect but I can't find anything like for IE.

Is there any way of listing what is in the "Add or remove program" located in your "Control Panel", I can recognise it if I can see it.

I ran "house calls" not too long ago, but I think it was before this problem, so I'll run it again tonite after work. I'm running a bit late this morning. Thanks and I'll let you know the results.

I looked in control panel and saw nothing that mentioned orbit.

I think cswchan meant to look in the Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs applet for the item with the name of "Orbit" or something similar in it.

You can take a screen shot image of the Program's list and let cswchan see it by posting the address here. I like to use http://www.allyoucanupload.com to upload images to display here via a link
like this one

Here is how to use the Print Scrn key.

Uploading the screen shot:
When the "all you can upload" page opens, use the browse button to navigate to the save location on your computer. If you needmore than one image to show the list, you can upload up to ten images at a time.

Once the image(s) are uploaded, copy/paste the image address here in a Reply thread.

Image: Use the browse button

Copy the address
