This exceeds a basic question, but I didn't see another place to ask it.

I've got a bunch of mp3's on a DVD+R that I can play and convert, however, it doesn't seem that I am able to copy as mp3's to another DVD+R. Is there a trick, do I need additional software (or hardware) or am I just out of luck? I don't want to put on CD's because they just don't store enough.

You need software that will copy a DVD. I know Nero does it, I'm sure there are tons of other programs that will do it.

Here's one freeware app that says it will copy DVD's - never used it though, I just typed copy dvd into the Google search box.

Alternately, you could copy the mp3's to a folder on your hard drive, then burn them.

I was able to copy them to my hard drive just fine, however, my computer doesn't want to write to the DVD - it asks for a CD. It seemed too simple, but it was easier than downloading something else. I guess I have no choice now.

It appears that I need a DVD burner as opposed to only the CD burner I have on my PC.

I didn't see what DVD writing software that you're using but usually if the program is asking for a CD it is because the DD / DVD select switch is in the CD position.

I suggest you check on opening screen on the burner software and look carefully for a select "switch" and try setting it to DVD.

I know I have done that many times and only catch the oversight when it asks for either a CD when I'm trying to burn a DVD, or Vice Versa.

By the way, I using the "Nero" burning program. I use the Nero "SmartStart" option because that is where I see the Dc/DVD select switch.

I hope this will help!
