Having a bit of trouble getting my questions answered here, but I'll try with another one. I keep getting a little pop up that says my firewall is not turned on. But when I go to control panel/Windows Firewall, it indicates the firewall IS on. How do I know which is right?

Here is a clearer fast way to check if your Network is Firewalled on XP Open the Control Panel,Click on Windows Firewall then the Advanced Tab And the Network Connections box should have 5 Links within, 4 if No Firewire (1394) Socket is on the Machine Only thing to check is that they are All ticked

Conclusion you are safe but,there is no indicator to show which Firewall has taken on the primary role
