Have you a screensaver running of any description ?
If the answer is yes then Lessen the timings. Open Display Properties in the Control Panel
Click the Screensaver Tab then reduce the time in the "wait" box underneath to 5 minutes
and..leave the adjacent "password" box unticked unless you have to go away, and have to keep the display from prying eyes

And as regards screensavers you'll find that you will pick up a small selection with certain programs The Seti /Boinc group are the best known
I have 2 from here and there are perhaps 2 dozen more
My other 3rd party savers are AOL Pictures with a solitary saved Photo
And Avast! antivirus which is a starfield effect...runs a scan while its Idling

On my other computer I have Google Picasa whose screensaver can be configured several different ways...Shows all the archived images on the computer

And for the "What's the purpose of a screen saver?" crowd
It stops the monitor burning an image in the screen Won't happen overnight, but over time a monitor tube can be ruined and the only remedy is a New monitor ...which are expensive

Laptops? looking at a new machine!!

Tip from me turn the Monitor Color Temp.down a touch /Contrast too and That lessens the screenburn chances
Never Run a Monitor at Max Contrast tube life is reduced....And if the Only picture you can see is with the contrast "maxed: or near Maxed out then Buy a new monitor...same advice applies to TVsIs a good check to do if you ever going to buy a 2nd hand Monitor or TV ...Walk away if the setting looks on the high side
