I have just started using Firefox within the last 3 days and I am loving it's speed and the lack of 'pop-ups'. There is a feature in Firefox that allows quick access to your favourite websites by arranging them in a 'tab' format just below your address bar. There are a few drawbacks however, 'plug-ins' are not included and have to be installed. Also, It does NOT work on Hotmail... go figure... Otherwise, like I said earlier, it's great.
Firefox will ask if you want all your to make it your main browser and also if you want to transfer all the 'cookies', 'weblinks' etc. over to the new browser. I opted not to have Firefox as my main browser so that I can still use sites associated with MicroSoft.
Hope this helps you in you decision.

I just started using Mozilla 9.2 a few weeks ago. I like the tabs to switch between webpages. It stores your favorites in the tabs. I have found that many programs require Explorer. So long to IE spell. Frown There is an equivalent but it isn't as good. I especially like how you can add little notes to your favorites. Mozilla allows you to import all your favorites. It will let you choose what you want to import. (It still stays on IE, you are just copying it over) There is an option ieview to "switch page" to IE if you have to. (very convenient) I am still getting used to it. I do find myself using IE more. There are many downloads that I haven't tried yet so many they have more equivalents. I'm not ready to switch to the Thunderbird mail client yet. I like my Outlook Express. Oh.. change is so hard isn't it!
This site will give you more information.

Sorry. Ignore. I tried to give a link to the latest Fred Langa newsletter, which has a piece on Firefox, but the link doesn't work and AP will let me edit a post, but not delete one!

Carry on talking among yourselves.

I just downloaded a BUNCH of extensions. These are great. There is an extension for tiny URL and there is a spellchecker!! (they both can be accessed by right clicking the mouse) I'm starting to like this. Smile

Firefox extensions

firefox spellbound

I sometimes have to use the Control C to copy and the Control V to paste in the URL in THIS post box but it works! Check out the extensions though. Pretty cool stuff! Smile

This is the tiny URL they gave me by right clicking in the middle of the main page.

How convenient! Big Grin

I am still keeping my IE browser on my computer. Some programs you have to use IE. I'm still playing around with it. I am just switching between the two for now. DO NOT get rid of the Explorer yet. (wait until you really know Mozilla first) I'm thinking about getting rid of Outlook Express and switching to Thunderbird. (I would delete the outlook express if I switched)

One thing at a time! Smile

To all:

I downloaded Foxfire & Mozilla & as a result I was not able to boot-up my Answer Pool Forums.

I therefore uninstalled them. I had to restore the Windows Files/Folders to do this. Add/Remove did not work for these.

These programs did not work with Windows 98 2nd Edition.

I use Mozilla 1.5 as my default browser, and it works no problem with Answerpool. I like the way it blocks pop-ups.
