Hi
You said it right Smile The less things running in the corner by the clock (at startup) does help speed things up Smile
Can you post what sort of Operating system you are running? Windows 95-98-XP-Me ect?
If you don't know or not sure download the Belarc program (off the pinned topic in this section)and run the Scan
It'll look similar to this..
quote:
Operating System
Model
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 (build
2600)

Copy what it says and post it Thanks Smile

Go to Start, Run and type msconfig and click OK. Check (or dot in) "selective startup." Go to the top and click "Startup." Everything available will come up, and you will be able to check and uncheck what you want to run. If you mess up, you can always go through the steps and recheck. I like to go to pcpitstop.com and let them run a free test on computer. When it is through, you can click on "view test details" and it will tell you what is necessary and what is optional in Startup. I always check "test anonymously" and don't register. When test is finished, you will have to decline an offer before results are displayed. It is safe, have used it for years.
