I have asked this question before but never got an answer. I HATE IE 7 - can I just uninstall it, and will IE 6 still be there?

Thank you for any help.

The answer to your question Catty is Yes
IE6 is still there regardless

So what do you do?... Such a difficult thing Roll Eyes

quote:
Simply go into your Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > Remove Windows Internet Explorer 7.
You will automatically revert back to IE6.

This answer comes courtesy of the other Site I answer questions on
Here is the thread the answer came from

Bedstor, I have visited the group at the link you gave me, but they won't let me post. I can log in, no problem, but can't post. And I got this error message when I tried:

"The host 'MSN' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'MSN', Server: 'MSN', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D"

What the **** does this mean?

Don DeK Has a similar message to you in this section(same service MSN)

But I'll walk you through it ...you signed up? yes filled out the log in form and its asked for a contact email address Yes you get the Mail with the login code and its refused your entry when you reply? Yes Typical HotMail MSN and also AOL!! Mad
they have a high rate of rejection
Have you still got your Gmail address Catty? I find that is almost universally acceptable on Login sites.Yahoo! too
Make another attempt and use your Gmail address
as the Contact and I think you'll get on straight away (Have to reply back from gmail) Near Identical to MSN /Hotmail

All You do is look Under the Banner for the
Compose Mail button or click on the Link in the Mail and you are In Big Grin

There are several overseas members (including some from AP) that are regular so You should have no Probs about getting the registration confirmed
PS I use Yahoo! for my DP notifications and AOL for the AP replies Yet They are sent to Gmail first then toAOL because they were getting bounced back by the AOL Mailserver without warning and I was loosing some in the Process
So With that workaround I got everything and NO Bounces Smile

catty have you been on this forum Before?

I found this and It has your Nickname from 2004

if that is correct attempt to get in on this
Have to use your MSN address and Complete the details on the second section on this list www.webuser.co.uk/forums/logout.php?Cat=
quote:
Enter your email address or login name that you registered with to have a temporary password mailed to you.

And see if that works on either of these screen names Smile

OK bedstor, I did that. I got logged in with no problem, but it won't let me post. I will try the gmail.

BTW, IE 7 uninstalled with no problem, but I'm still getting LiveSearch every time.

Heres a Tip to try off the Site Help Forum in the mean while
quote:
To make a new post, first find the appropriate board on the Main Index. In your case it would probably be All other Topics, in the Reader Helps Reader section. Once you have clicked on that category there will be a link on the top left hand side that says Post. Click this and enter your posting. You can preview it and chose to get replies sent to you via email.

I'm puzzled by that I'll Put a query on the Forum for you if you have no Joy on tip above

Remember click on the forum section you want,
then if your Name is showing on the Left side
Go to the row below and look for the 5 buttons in a line the left Button is the Post Button

Idea! Login again Would recommend you auto logged on(tick the box)then click on this link It is for the Security Discussion section It works! surprised Me Razz
Does the Posting Box open for you Now?
now return to the Main list and select the Forum wher you wish to go ...And there a lot of helpful people over there if you get stuck ...and yours truly Wink
If so then If you remenber the position of the POST button you can do it without thinking Smile
