Is there an option on the keyboard to highlight a text?

I had scanned a newspaper clipping and sent it to the PDF format, but I wanted to copy and paste it somewhere else, and there was no option on the page to highlight or copy it.

I'm not gonna remove this question, but I just had another thought. I'm going back and send it to Microsoft Word and try it like that.

I still want to know if there's a hightlighting option on the keyboard.

There is no "hilight" button per se. However, you can click and hold at the beginning of the area you want to select, hold the SHIFT key and drag your mouse over to the end of the area you want to hilight, then let go of the SHIFT and mouse buttons. You can press CTRL+C to copy the text, or in most Windows apps, click on Edit, Copy.

Thanks so much Chris, that's exactly what I wanted to know. I knew there wasn't a highlight key but I didn't exactly know how to phrase my question.

A strange thing happened when I scanned it and sent it to Microsoft Word. It went in some foreign scribble. Not words but some kind of symbols.

I think it is because it is trying to read it as a different character set Hence the "funny language" Try it again but making the word stand out in Bold Will it do as a temporary workaround?
BTW I know little about MS Word and its setup (despite having it) I suspect you'll have to try a different color make the highlighting work? On my computer it's located on the extreme right of the toolbar next to the Font color icon .Depends on what buttons you have set to display?
Late find: Save your work click Help there is a repair wizard on the Menu This may put things back in order, if there is a corrupt file in the program? Reload your work and see if that makes any difference?

Another option is your MS Paint program, even though I get mad at it because it will not do what I want sometimes.

Don't forget Dwight's helpful site, another option I was thinking about was printscreen. Here's his link:

Instructions on Print Screen

Scroll to the top of the page, and start from the beginning, it's quite easy!

Thanks Dwight! You're sites so cool! Smile

If you printscreen then save it to either Word, or Paint, then you may be able to work with it.

As you have found out by now, Adobe Acrobat READER is exactly that, a reader. To change things in a .pdf document, you need the full version of Acrobat.
