Whenever I turn on my computer, things run very slow. Using CTRL+ALT+DEL, the program Wupdater (in C:/Program Files/Common Files) is not responding. How do I get it to work again? I'm using Windows 98, by the way. Thanks!

Use Lavasoft's free Ad-aware Standard Edition to remove this and other parasites (adware, spyware, "malware" in general).

I strongly recommend that you use firewall software, such as Zonelab's free ZoneAlarm, to alert you to programs which connect to the Internet without your knowledge, and protect against incoming threats.

Thanks for your help, TomGl2. I never figured that this was adware. I thought it was some legitimate program used to update something in Windows!
