I kinda understand the 'buffering' when burning to a CD.
But I receive CD's with lectures/sermons on them and it goes up to a certain point and stops.
I can sometime restart and fst/fwrd passed the time where the CD stopped. [in the old days one could just pick up the arm and set the needle over on the record].

So how come when a CD runs up against a 'buffered-pause' - - Why doesn't it just move on to the next sound avaiable and keep playing?
[there is no needle or bump in the record to hold it in the 'stuck' position.

Do all of these CD's share this problem? I'm wondering if the computer that is creating the CD has a problem. Do you see this problem with any other CD's being played on your computer? If so, I would guess the problem would be in your system, but if all other CD's work correctly, then the problem would be caused by the initial burn.

I have a possible "work-around" that you can try.

Copy the contents of the CD to your computer's hard drive, then play if from there. If the CD is in fact functional, you may be able to hear it correctly when played from your hard-drive. If the CD's content is in fact damaged, the content when copied to the hard-drive will also be damaged and at the same point.

To copy the data from the CD:

1) Put in the CD into the CD-ROM drive and press and hold the 'Shift' key on keyboard until the CD has been "read" (the activity light goes out)

2) Right click on the "My Computer" icon and choose "Explore"

3) Expand the "My Computer" folder (by clicking the + sign)

4) Select the CD-ROM drive

5) Select either a file or a folder in the right-side screen showing the CD disks contents

6) Click the Edit menu --> Select All command

7) With all of the content selected, Click the Edit menu --> Copy command

8) Paste the contents into a folder (create a new folder if you like) on the C:\ drive

Once this is complete, open the folder you pasted the contents of the CD disk into and play the audio file.

I hope this will help!
