If this letter and question don’t make sense – I’ll go back over to the Sen. Citz. Center – (tomorrow) where the other computer are and re-do what I’m gonna try to tell ya’ from memory.

Went over before class today to put some pictures into file so I could have the students pull them up with ease.

It seemed like every time I opened one up [from the Emails I had sent myself] and copied and saved it - - it put it into a different place.

After opening the file I sent to myself and clicked on save – the window that opened would be titled ‘My pictures’

The next picture/file I would try to save – and send it to My Documents / My pictures - - - the window that opened was not the same window that opened under ‘my pictures’ (the first time).

It seemed like there was a 3rd. ‘My picture’ window that opened – Like when I went to ‘insert/picture/from file’ – when that file opened up – there was no pictures (saved) in it.

I had a terrible time – re-finding those pictures today.

Has anyone run across something like this before?

If so – what’s happening that I’m getting all this run-a-round.

Thanks

I know whats Happening ,You said it they are getting indexed in different Folders as the Formats may be saved differently Call them Bitmaps,JPG or Jpeg (which is the easiest to work with) and Compact and Many More who are only good for High quality images and eat disk space

To collate (and view) all the Images on the Computer download Picasa from Google Which Has lots of editing tricks and is easy to Understand
There is a video to look at and have a sneak Peek www.youtube.com/watch?v=rskC6c_5L1M

Since you are opening the images in an email, you can choose to save the image (or any file for that matter) anywhere you like.
So, for this use, create a new folder on the Desktop and when you open each email, save the attached file to that folder that you created.
Once you're done, you can cut/paste the folder into My Pictures or where ever you like.

You could also put all the image files into a folder before sending, then right click on the folder and choose Send To / Compressed folder. That will compress them into a .zip file which you then attach to an email.

The zip file will be found in the same folder as what it was created in.

When you get the email, save the attached .zip file into a folder you have created and right click on the .zip file and choose "Extract All".

Run the extraction wizard and extract the image files into the same folder where you saved the .zip file (it will suggest that).

All the image files will be there in the folder that you can cut.paste anywhere you like.

I hope this helps!
