And it's driving me nuts! I mostly spend my PC time on Facebook and playing some games from apps there (only 3 games) but the freezing of my screen is making me pull my hair out! HELP! Smile

Happens to me too - I think FaceBook games can be pretty buggy sometimes, at least FarmVille does freeze my computer once in a while.

Okay, well that makes me feel better anyways. I play farmtown and yoville..but the most trouble is with a new game they just came out with.

someone said that i need to free up some memory .. i cleaned my C drive and defragged, so i don't know of anything else really to do.

Thanks for your reply, GarColga and nice to see you again. Smile

The Jav /Shockwave drivers on your computer may be in Need of an Update
Ditto Graphic Card drivers Which Has 2 Universal drivers for Most machines.Need more information as to what the Make of Graphics is either ATI or GeForce

The Update is worth doing annually.

Or read on ...

A No brainer Idea! For everyone
Go to www.FileHippo.com or http://filehippo.com/updatechecker/
Install and run this 155k program
It scans your computer then sends the Results to FileHippo who send Back a shopping list of the Latest drivers for your Machine (No Sign Up)
and It won't send you "suggested" drivers Is a case of a better driver for you
Only Minor Con if the New Driver offered is a Beta you don't have to take it you may have several versions between yours and the Offered version. Therefore you can use 1 of those, and You aren't Penalised.

PS If you are using the Google Chrome browser. You can update to Version 3 Beta But The Backroom Guys @ Google will automatically switch you over and Update you (they'll post the Update and set the wheels in motion within 24 hrs) Smile Version 2.0 is the one to download
Only sign is the Google uploader asking for access on the Firewall. Allow it, and you always have the latest version Smile

It could be your Internet Files cache is Not clearing? or its set too small

Open Internet Explorer (Internet Options)
click Settings on Browser History then on the Next page alter the Number to Midway between the Lower and Higher numbers in the recommended Numbers for starters Mine is 128 MBS

If it still freezes increase in say about 32MB stages to the maximum number recommended but No More! Min is set @ 250MB

Click OK to set the Number

The Section at the Very top of the Page is for changing the Home Page over
Immediately Below this is the Browsing HistorySection.
This is the section you want.Click the Settings button to see the page we discussed earlier
The tick box in the section if ticked clears the Internet cache when you shut down and may give you a bit of respite from slowness

Where you are going is to check/ set the size of the same Cache

Too small...can cause the Issues you are Having
Too large then error messages May appear
Have to set it Midway between the "Recommended" settings and at the Most about 3/4th of the setting
If the Trouble is still occuring then the Virtual Drive setting on the Hard Drive may need adjusting
But that we can leave till another time

Google Chrome Is Very fast and reliable Has No Lag issues (Very minimal controls)

And If your computer Is at Least an SP2 or Vista It will run

Easy way to check is to download CCleaner from www.ccleaner.com which is a Very good Cleaning Program
If you Have it already, open It up and on the Front Page under the Title it Has the details you want. On mine it says MS Windows XP Professional SP3 if the last Number is SP2 or you are running Vista? Then You can run Chrome (alongside another browser)
The Download is about 9 to 10MB
Safari is about 25 MB in comparison

www.google.com/chrome
And they have got another even faster version #3 coming out later (The Program auto updates itself) Only thing you may have to do is acknowledge "Google Updater" on a firewall alert.
Total No Brainer Smile

Facebook and Myspace apps are notorious for Viruses and spyware, so freezing up is not uncommon. You might also try to scan for both to see if your computer is already infected.

Filehippo.com's update checker usually checks for updated versions of programs already installed on your computer, so its a good thing to run every week or two. Perhaps you should download and run CCleaner, which will take care of temp files, history, and a bunch of other junk that accumulates every day.
