I don't know if you can change the filename font color. There are several "themes" that you could install that would change many appearance items but I don't see font color among the choices.
Right click on any unused area of the Desktop and choose "Properties".
In the Display Properties Window, choose Themes. You can try some of these and see if there are any that you like.

While you're in the Desktop Properties window, you can click on the Appearance tab and then click Advanced. From there you can choose the Item and preferred font.

However, I don't see any that would change filename font color.

If I were doing this, what I would do is do a File/Save As on each sheet that I have reviewed. For instance if I have an Excel file named:
city_manager.xls

Once I have reviewed the file, I would change it to read:
city_manager-rv.xls

Each file that I reviewed would be renamed in this same manner. The original file could be deleted or moved.

Another method would be to create a new folder named something like "Reviewed Excel" and cut/paste the reviewed files into that folder. Copy/Paste files

You could change the Appearance of the store folder for the reviewed Excel files if you want. In My documents, scroll to the Reviewed Excel file store folder. Right click it and choose "Properties", then the Customize tab. You can add a picture or change the folder icon itself. This picture show the steps for doing this and the picture below shows the new icon I choose.

I hope something here will help!

Yes you have helped me a lot. I will change the names of the folders to rev and I will know which one has been done. Sometimes you just need a little nudge to make you think. Thank you again LL

Filenames that appear in blue are compressed on the drive. (Feature of NTFS) You probably ran Disk Cleanup and had it "Compress old files".

You can opt to show these files in the standard black font by changing a setting in Explorer. Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click the View tab.
Look for the option "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color", and uncheck it. Click Ok.

Hope this was helpful.

Wow! am I ever impressed that is exactly what I did, I really do not mind the files being in blue and now I understand why they are that color. If I want all of my files in that color all I have yo do is run disk clean up and complress old files, if I want them to stay black just check off what you mentionned. Thank you ever so much. I will be going to bed a lot smarter than when I got up this morning. Thank you again .
