Can any one tell me if using Picasa 2 to reduce redeye or improve the appearance of a picture etc, weakens the quality of the original digital photo. I,ve been told that using Picasa 2 seriously reduces the pixels that makes up the shot, is this true?

Picasa always makes a backup of the original photo before committing any changes to disk. (Use the "Undo All" function to restore the original image) The resolution of the edited photo will be the same, unless you crop it.

If you export a photo, you'll be offered the option to resize the image, which can reduce the size/quality of the image. (But it is at your discretion)

Hope this was helpful. Smile
