Hi everyone -- I'm working on a paper for school and my professor has asked that we list footnotes at the bottom of every page that has a citation or reference.
She said there is a simple "footnote feature" in Microsoft Office's Word program. She said you click on "footnote" and type it in, that it will be placed appropriately at the bottom of the page.
Well, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to do this. I don't have a "footnote" option that I can find.
Can anyone help me?? Please??

You can always go to HELP at the top of the screen, and type in the most relevant word, "footnote" in this case, and hit the "search button."
HERE IS WHAT IT SAYS:
Insert a footnote or an endnote In print layout view, click where you want to insert the note reference mark.
On the Insert menu, click Footnote.
Click Footnote or Endnote.
Under Numbering, click the option you want. For Help on an option, click the question mark and then click the option.
Click OK. Word inserts the note number and places the insertion point next to the note number.
Type the note text.
Scroll to your place in the document and continue typing. Note In printed documents and in printed documents that you're viewing online, Word, by default, places footnotes at the end of each page and endnotes at the end of the document. You can change the placement of footnotes so that they appear directly below the text. Similarly, you can change the placement of endnotes so that they appear at the end of each section.
